Animal welfare policy and commitments

At Eureka, we recognise a clear connection between animal welfare, productivity and consumer preferences. Animal welfare is an integral component of our operations: a good human-chicken relationship is paramount to good farm performance, as well as guaranteeing the five animal freedoms stated below:

  • Freedom from hunger, malnutrition and thirst
  • Freedom from fear and distress
  • Freedom from physical and thermal discomfort
  • Freedom from pain, injury and disease
  • Freedom to express normal patterns of behaviour

Partnerships in Success

We work with international restaurant chains and animal welfare organisations in our quest to ensure that we surpass both international professional standards and consumer expectations. We are committed to growing our portfolio of partners in this journey, and view this as a key step in improving animal welfare in Zambia and Sub-Saharan Africa.
